Hotel Villa Kokomo is not your average Hotel, but everything has
a label and I guess Boutique Hotel fits it best.
Villa Kokomo is actually a 2 story house that was built with 4
hotel rooms on the second floor, the first floor is where we
live. Since it is a house, calling ahead or having reservations
is preferred so that we can insure that someone is here when you
arrive. Drop ins are accepted, but not encouraged.
Because Hotel Villa Kokomo is on a hillside, having a car
generally works best. A car is not needed if you don't mind
walking uphill .
We're 2 minutes to the beach by car and 10 minutes if you walk.
Each room has it's own Bed, Bathroom, Shower, Cable TV, Air
Conditioner, Refrigerator, Ceiling Fan and Closet. So it really
is a hotel , but without a hotel atmosphere.
The Doors, Closets and Furniture were made in Costa Rica. The
beds are "matrimonio" size, which is a little larger than a
full, but smaller than a queen. Three of the rooms have one bed
in them, and one room has 2 beds.
There is a 16' x 20' Rancho (covered patio) for hanging out and
relaxing with a cup of coffee in the morning. The Rancho has tables, chairs, stove,
sink, dishes, pots & pans. It's basically a complete
outdoor kitchen, but it's rarely used so the dishes are going to
be dusty (not dirty) and will need to be rinsed off before use.
Villa Kokomo is perfect for people that like a nice, private,
comfortable, laid back place to stay with a gorgeous view.
So, if you're like me, you just want a clean comfortable
room to stay in while on vacation. Chill out at the end of the
day, watch a little TV and grab a snack or something to eat from
your refrigerator.
If you think that a room, like a rental car, is a necessary incidental
expense, and is not the primary reason for coming to Costa Rica,
you'll probably like Hotel Villa Kokomo.
